Accidental Claim Support – Pathao Rides

General Terms
Scope
Pathao Limited is the market leader in ridesharing services in Bangladesh, operating under the Ridesharing Service Guidelines 2017. To improve safety for users, Pathao has launched the Accidental Claim Support Program for passengers, riders (bike, car, cycle), and parcel agents during any active ride or parcel delivery trip.
This program provides medical expense reimbursement and financial support in case of injury or death resulting from an accident during an active ride or delivery trip.
Eligibility Criteria
- Eligible Parties:
- All passengers and riders (bike, car, cycle) using the Pathao App.
- All Pathao Parcel Riders (Bike & Cyclist).
- Active Ride/Trip Definition:
- Begins when a ride or delivery trip is started via the Pathao App and ends when the trip is marked complete.
- Only 1 rider and 1 passenger in case of motorbikes.
- 1 cyclist in case of cycle rides.
- 1 driver and up to 3 passengers for car rides.
Application Deadline and Procedure:

Medical Test Reports | Hospital/clinic pad with seal and payment proof | Same as OPD/IPD deadline |
Note: All documents must be original or scanned clearly. Handwritten papers without seal/sign will not be accepted.
Parcel Delivery Claims Verification
- Submit at least 1 photo of accident location and 1 of visible injuries (if possible).
- Ensure clarity and relevance of all images.
- The rider must notify both the sender and receiver of the incident.
- Pathao WIC Officer will call both stakeholders to verify:
- Was the rider injured during delivery?
- Was there any delay, loss, or issue?
- If either party denies awareness, the claim will be rejected.

Rejection Grounds
- Rider not registered as parcel rider/cyclist
- Accident occurred outside an active ride or delivery
- Incomplete, fake, or unverifiable documents
- Unclear or irrelevant photos
- Sender/receiver unaware of incident (for parcel claims)
- Trip route/timing abnormalities
Disclaimer
Ridesharing is conducted on a freelancing model. Pathao is not a transport provider and does not own the vehicles used. Riders are independent service providers, not employees.
Pathao is not legally liable for accidents, injuries, or losses occurring during rides. The benefits under this program are offered out of goodwill, to recognize the contributions of the community.
Pathao retains sole discretion to accept or reject any claim without providing a reason.
